Triumph Success & other Heritage dominance in the US of A.

Heritage pushes iconic British Brand….Not quite such good news for America’s No 1 Motorcycle. And finally, another iconic Brit to play the Buffalo Chip in Sturgis in August.

Triumph Bonnevile Launch- Record Breaker !!

Fresh of the announcement of an all-time retail sales record in 2016, Triumph Motorcycles is proud to announce that the Bonneville Bobber is the most successful new model launch in Triumph’s history with more customers taking delivery of the Bobber in the first 30 days than any previous motorcycle.

2017 has seen Triumph add five new models to the Bonneville family, including the T100, T100 Black, Street Scrambler, Street Cup and Bobber, as well as revealing an exhilarating, new Street Triple. Through the success of the entire model line up, Triumph has closed out the first quarter with a 15% increase of customer sales compared to the same time period in 2016.

These accomplishments come on the heels of a USA continent wide tour, dubbed the Bonneville Bobber Brutal Beauty Tour. This included over 50 stops through the Unites States and Canada, giving consumers a first look at Triumph’s new model line up.

Closer to home you’ll be able to book a test ride at MCN’s Festival of Motorcycling over the weekend of 13th 14th May at Peterborough Showground.

Meanwhile, things aren’t looking quite so up beat over at Messrs Harley Davidson where first quarter results aren’t quite so encouraging.

First quarter worldwide Harley-Davidson retail motorcycle sales were down 4.2 percent compared to the same period in 2016. In line with the company’s expectations, Harley-Davidson retail motorcycle sales in the U.S. were down 5.7 percent compared to the year-ago quarter, with the overall U.S. industry down for the same period. Harley-Davidson’s U.S. market share for the quarter was 51.3 percent in the 601cc-plus segment, up compared to the first quarter in 2016. Harley-Davidson’s international retail sales decreased 1.8 percent compared to the same quarter in 2016.

“First quarter U.S. retail sales were in line with our projections and we remain confident in our full-year plan despite international retail sales being down in the first quarter,” said Matt Levatich, CEO, Harley-Davidson. “We are very pleased with our continued growth in U.S. market share and the progress our U.S. dealers made in reducing their inventory of 2016 motorcycles in the quarter.”

“We recently announced our plan to build the next generation of Harley-Davidson riders globally. We are energized by our focused strategy, and we believe our powerful brand and commitment to excellence will position us to drive demand for our products and grow our sport,” concluded Levatich.

And finally….having played his final gig with Brit Metal Gods Black Sabbath in February, OZZY OSBOURNE shows no signs of slowing down by announcing he’s head lining the Buffalo Chip stage in Sturgis on August 9th.
